Cardiology
Cardiology is the medical unit that provides diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Doctors working in this department are called cardiologists. The cardiology unit deals with diseases that are difficult to follow and require continuous follow-up and treatment, such as heart attacks, heart rhythm disorders, heart failure, and high blood pressure. Cardiologists make interventional interventions when necessary. Heart diseases are at the top of the list of the most common diseases all over the world. The most important causes of this are cardiological diseases such as atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), hypertension (high blood pressure), and hyperlipidemia (high blood lipids). The cardiology unit primarily provides the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and also aims to prevent such diseases.
The heart is one of the most important organs of the body. Problems such as heart failure, incomplete blood pumping, irregular blood pumping, and heart failure directly increase the patient’s life risk. The main diseases that cardiology looks at are Endocardial diseases, Myocardial infarction, Aortic stenosis and insufficiency, Mitral valve stenosis and insufficiency, Cardiomyopathy, Cardiac arrhythmias and arrest, and Cardiac and primary tumors and Tricuspid stenosis.
Cardiology unit cardiologists first take the medical history of the patient and an examination is performed. A diagnosis and treatment plan are created individually with the help of blood tests, electrocardiogram, echocardiography, angiography, radionuclide test, exercise test, Cardiac Catheterization, Myocardial perfusion scintigraphy imaging, and all kinds of auxiliary tests that can be used for risk factor determination.
Cardiovascular Surgery and Cardiology departments are constantly mixed. These two sections are confused because the study area is the same. The cardiology department deals with the diagnosis and diagnosis of heart diseases and plans the necessary treatment. However, if a surgical procedure is required for the treatment of heart disease in the person, they are directed to the cardiovascular surgery department and the necessary procedure is performed by the surgeons in these departments. Vascular surgery, heart valve surgery, aortic surgery, congenital heart surgery, coronary bypass surgery, and varicose surgery are treatments that can be performed by cardiovascular surgeons, not cardiologists.
