Cardiovascular Surgery
In the cardiovascular surgery department, surgeries related to the heart and heart-related vessels such as coronary vascular diseases, bypass, heart valve diseases, vascular dilation, and congenital heart holes are performed. In our hospital, miniature artificial heart applications are also made for our patients with heart failure.
In addition to these, detection of congenital heart diseases, surgical intervention, and treatment of congenital heart diseases diagnosed in newborns are performed in the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery unit, thanks to fetal echocardiography performed during pregnancy and delivery.
He specializes in 3 main areas as cardiovascular surgery, coronary surgery, heart valve surgery, and aortic surgery. Diseases such as coronary diseases, which are rapidly increasing in people who are older and over the age of 80, and heart valve insufficiency due to structural reasons, are treated. Emergency diagnosis units and operating conditions are open 24/7 to minimize the risk by performing the emergency first intervention in coronary vascular diseases.
Venous diseases are increasing day by day and patients with venous diseases need personalized care and follow-up plan. Medical methods such as laser, sclerotherapy, and thermocoagulation are used especially in the treatment of varicose veins. In addition, thrombophlebitis syndrome, lymphedema, and venous ulcer treatment are also performed.
Coronary Bypass surgery is done when the coronary vessels that feed the heart are not blocked due to the narrowing or occlusion of the coronary vessels, and non-surgical methods are not useful for patients, a new coronary vessel is inserted by surgery.
Aortic surgery is another operation performed in the field of cardiovascular surgery. The aorta is the main and largest vessel coming out of the heart, in case of a change in the aorta such as rupture or enlargement, there is a sudden and high risk and should intervene immediately. All necessary equipment for continuous monitoring of aortic size is available in our unit. There are various approaches in cases of heart failure, such as heart transplantation, artificial heart systems, artificial heart pumps, and a total artificial heart. Artificial heart systems are used to improve the patient’s quality of life in the last stage of heart failure. Artificial heart pumps are generally used to support the left ventricle, it is supportive therapy. Total artificial heart systems, on the other hand, allow the patient to continue his/her life outside the hospital for a few years.
